Tuskegee Wesley utilizes the weekly Tuesday night bible study as the main means of discipleship. During the bible study students learn how to engage a text theologically by learning about the social, contextual, and the literary style of the text.
In addition, to the Tuesday evening bible study students are broken down into three committees including Service, Outreach, and Worship or S.O.W teams. In these small groups, students plan activities and build closer bonds which translates into higher retention and further application of bible study lessons.
During the fall semester students have been journeying through the books of John and Exodus and answering the question how can we discern God’s voice. The answer has been to learn more about the character of God. The students have participated in bible study small groups, a Spring and Fall book Club with Auburn Wesley, a campus garden planting party to learn more about how to discern God’s voice and in turn learn how to be more intentional about listening to God.
